7. Nathaniel³ Carter (Nicholas², Nicholas¹) reference 138 was born in Carter's Alley, Dublin, Ireland April 14, 1707. Nathaniel died May 5, 1795 in Orange Co., NC, at 88 years of age.

He married Nancy Ann McPherson in Chester Co., PA, c 1732. Nancy was born in Chester Co., PA c 1714. She was the daughter of Daniel McPherson and Ruth Shires. Nancy died September 22, 1795 in Orange Co., NC.

Nathaniel Carter and Nancy Ann McPherson had the following children:

• 9 i. Rebecca⁴ Carter was born in Chester Co., PA c 1732.

• 10 ii. John Carter was born in Chester Co., PA July 19, 1734.

• 11 iii. Hannah Carter was born in Chester Co., PA July 4, 1736.

• 12 iv. Elizabeth Carter reference 69 was born in Cheser Co., PA August 16, 1737. Elizabeth died February 16, 1832 in Wilmington, Ohio, at 94 years of age. She married William Harvey in Chester Co, Pa,, c 1761. William was born in Chester Co, Pa, November 29, 1740. He was the son of Isaac Harvey and Martha Newlin. William died March 3, 1781 in Nc,, at 40 years of age. His body was interred in Spring Mm, Orange Co, Nc. (See William Harvey for the continuation of this line.)

• 13 v. Mary Carter was born in Chester Co., PA August 8, 1740.

• 14 vi. Ruth Carter was born in Chester Co., PA January 30, 1742.

• 15 vii. Nathaniel Carter was born in Chester Co., PA March 23, 1746.

• 16 viii. Edith Carter was born in Chester Co., PA August 27, 1749.

• 17 ix. William Carter was born in Chester Co., PA February 23, 1752.

• 18 x. Hannah Carter was born in Cheser Co., PA May 12, 1757.
