26. John M.⁴ Hoover (Jonas³, Adreas² Huber, Johannes¹) was born in Randolph Co., NC c 1779. John died June 15, 1828 in Randolph Co., NC.

He married Millicent Winslow in Randolph Co., NC, October 16, 1799. Millicent was born in Randolph Co., NC June 4, 1782. She was the daughter of Thomas Winslow and Elizabeth Phelps. Millicent died September 27, 1842 in Randolph Co., NC, at 60 years of age.

John M. Hoover and Millicent Winslow had the following children:

• 32 i. Jonas⁵ Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC January 13, 1804. Jonas died January 16, 1896 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, at 92 years of age. He married Mary Newby in Randolph Co., NC, March 29, 1826.

• 33 ii. Andrew Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC 1805. Andrew died He died young. in Randolph Co., NC.

• 34 iii. Gulielma Maria Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC November 22, 1806. Gulielma died April 16, 1873 in Carmel, Hamilton Co., IND., at 66 years of age. She married Stephen Hinshaw in Randolph Co., NC, November 20, 1826.

• 35 iv. Rachel Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC May 23, 1809. She married Johnson Gibson in Randolph Co., NC, March 31, 1831.

• 36 v. Elizabeth P. Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC December 26, 1811. Elizabeth died After 1860 in MO. She married Isham Portice Portis in Randolph Co., NC, July 26, 1838. (See Isham Portice Portis for the continuation of this line.)

• 37 vi. Sarah Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC January 18, 1813. She married an unknown person She was never married.

• 38 vii. Millicent Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC November 18, 1817. Millicent died Not sure - could have been c 1845 in Randolph Co., NC. She married Milton Burns in Randolph Co., NC, February 25, 1838.

• 39 viii. Caroline Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC March 27, 1819. She married Farley Miller in Randolph Co., NC, September 9, 1843.

• 40 ix. John M., Jr. Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC August 30, 1821. John died May 2, 1892 in Unknown, at 70 years of age. He married Elizabeth Whisenhunt in Randolph Co., NC, December 31, 1845.

• 41 x. Eleazor Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC December 12, 1823. Eleazor died 1903 in Indiana. He married Augusta Gibson in Unknown, May 28, 1851.

• 42 xi. Alfred Marsh Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC December 21, 1826. He married Wincy Dawson in NC, May 23, 1852.
