20. William5 Triplett II (William4, Frances3, Frances2, Francis1) was born in Loudoun Co., VA November 15, 1763. William died January 1, 1850 in Russell Co., KY, at 86 years of age.
He married Nancy Ferguson in Wilkes Co., NC, February 17, 1785. Nancy was born in Virginia
Sometime in 1766. Nancy died January 3, 1858 in Russell Co., KY. William moved with his parents from Orange Co., NC to Wilkes
Co. where he married Nancy. He bought land on the South side of Beaver Creek and Gap Creek. Daniel Boone was a good friend of
the Triplett's and Ferguson's, and had built cabins nearby and left his family there when he went to explore Kentucky. William
and Nancy had 9 children, the first 5 being born in Wilkes Co., NC. They then moved to Adair Co., KY in 1804, where William paid $1,000 in
gold for 200 acres of land on Greasy Creek. Two more children were born to them in Adair Co., KY. Records indicate that some slaves were
brought with them from NC. In 1832, William applied for a Revolutionary War pension, in which he stated that he had volunteered
for service in the year 1782, but as his mother was a widow, and needed him at home, he gave Jeremiah Ferguson $40.00 to go in his place.
Jeremiah later became his brother-in-law. Later that year he volunteered again and served 3 months under Captain John Kees. His pension
was denied as at least 6 months of service was required for a pension. When Russell Co., KY was formed from part of Adair Co.,
KY, his land then lay in Russell Co.
William TriplettII and Nancy Ferguson had the following children:
I have no date for death or where he
died. I do have the names for most of the children born to he and Matilda.
He and wife Rebecca are both buried in the Triplett Cemetery, in
the Black Fox community, near Cleveland, TN.
Micajah
and Sarah are both buried there in the McCord Cemetery.
Lewis was a carpenter and
reportedly was addicted to alcohol. Lewis probably died in Pike Co., IL, however I have no date.
Joel died in Barry Co., MO. where some of his children were living at the time.
Thomas and Frances had 7 children. The first 6
children were born in Adair Co., KY. Thomas had debts he was unable to pay, so he sold the land that had been left to him in his father's
will to his brother John Triplett, and then moved with his family to Cumberland Co., KY. where his and France's last child was born.
No record of when or where he died.
Apparently, Alfred never married. No further records for him.
