4. Thomas2 Drennan Sr. (John1) was born in York Co., SC (then Mecklenburg Co., NC) November 9, 1768. Thomas died July 16, 1835 in Wilson Co., TN, at 66 years of age.

He married Ann ? in York Co., SC, about 1792. WILL OF THOMAS DRENNAN SR.

In the name of God, Amen, I Thomas Drennan considering the frailty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory do by these presents make and publish this my last will and Testament, Revoking all wills heretofore by me made.

First, I give my soul to God, that supreme being who holds (?) of rightousness in his own hands by whom I expect to enjoy happenings eternally.

Second, I give my body to the grave and return to the dust from whence I came.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Anny, one negro girl named Roda, one feather bed and furniture, one cow & calf and my cubbard and furniture. Also, all the pottery on our premises and live in my late dwelling house and have and hold possession of so much of my present farm as will be of sufficient value that she may live comfortably her ntaural lifetime or widowhood and at her death or marriage all of said property given her to be sold and equally divided between my lawful heirs.

Item, I give and beequeath unto my daughter Sally Fisher, four hundred dollars.

Item, I give unto my daugher Nancy Shane, one negro girl named Sarah and one sorrel mare worth two hundred and seventy five dollars. Also one hundred and twenty five dollars.

Item, I give unto my daughter Rachel Hugueley, one hundred and ten acres of land to her and the lawful heirs of her body by the name Hugueley, to be laid off out of my land according to the field notes enclosed in my will with my hand written on the back of said field notes said 110 acres of land valued by me to be worth five hundred dollars.

Item, I give unto my daughter Jane Cutchin, one negro girl named (Line?) at two hundred and forty dollars. Also, one hundred and sixty dollars.

Item, I give unto my daughter Eliz. Drennan, one negro girl named East at two hundred and twenty five dollars. Also, one hundred and seventy give dollars and one feather bed and furniture.

Item, I give unto my daughter Mariah Drennan, one negro girl named racheal at two hundred dollars. Also, two hundred dollars and feather bed and furniture.

Item, I give unto my daughter Hardinor Drennan, one negro girl named Harriet at three hundred and twenty five dollars. Also, seventy five dollars and one feather bed and furniture.

Item, I give unto my son John Drenon, four hundred dollars.

Item, I give unto my son William Drenon, four hundred dollars.

Item, I give unto my son Joseph F. Drenon, four hundred dollars.

Item, I give unto my son Thomas Drenon, four hundred dollars.

Item, I give unto my son Hiram Drenon, all the tract of land on which I lived, containing one hundred and ten acres valued by me at six hundred dollars.

And lastly, I constitute and appoint my brother, James Drenon, my Sole Executor and authorize and enjoin on him to sell all my negroes not distributed by me in the body of this my last will and testament and also all my estate of whatsoever kind I may own at my Dec., not distributed by me.

The Negroes to be sold, as named, Philip, Kate and one boy child of said Kate, one boy George, one girl Lotty, and after said property is sold, my Exr will make an equal division between my heirs after paying all my just debts and expenses. This is my lst Will and Testament in witness whereof I have this day set my hand and Seal this 8th day of June 1833.

The last will and testament of Thomas Drennon dec. was exhibited in open Court and duly proven by the oath of William G. Barr, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and the handwritng of John C. Wood, the other witness being proven by the oaths of Thos. Kirpatrick and David F. Wood and is ordered to be recorded.
