Howdy to all my cousins and friends.........

I know, I know........said I'd keep this page changed with new information, but....well.....gee.....where does the time go????

For all my Huguelet's out there.....great news.......a new-found cousin of mine a month or so ago agreed to translate the roll of film I've been talking about from Vauffelin, Switzerland.  He just happens to be engaged to a girl that speaks French.  How lucky can we get??  I was about at my wit's end trying to find a reliable source to translate for me.  Now, there is another roll of film on Notarial Records 1750-1779 (roll #1475879) which may have info on our Huguelet's on it.  I confess I have misplaced the paper where I had written down the roll number of the notarial records I have looked at.....but again.....couldn't read without translator other than names.  Will try to get that to Kevin (our cousin and his fiance doing so much work for us) when I can find it.

I'm not making much progress with our Huguelet in Switzerland.  However, I have not given up on her yet.  Food for thought......I have a Switzerland directory with addresses for all the Huguelet's that live in Vauffelin as well as any other part of Switzerland.....if we had Kevin's fiance write a letter for us in French and email to several of us, we could all mail some letters of inquiry to these Huguelet's with the chance of perhaps finding one or two that has some family history or perhaps descends from our direct line.  It costs $.60 per letter to mail to Switzerland.  Everyone let me know and we'll get with Kevin.

Now...for the descendents of the Huguelet-Jenkin's line:

STATE OF TENNESSEE
COUNTY OF WILSON

Jemima Jenkins, applicant in attached application for Pension being further sworn states as follows....
There is no official record of the marriage of myself and my late husband William Jenkins, as will be seen by attached Certificate of Clerk of the County Court of Fairfax County, Virginia, the county wherein we were married.  The Minister who married us, Rev. Jerre Moore has long since been dead.  I know of no living prson who was present at our marriage.  The affidavit of two of my sons, Lewis Jenkins and Samuel Jenkins, accompany my application.

I am the custodian of our family record, contained in an old book that belonged to my husband, the fly leaf thereof bearing the following inscription.  "Pockey Hemn Book Designed as a Constant Companion for the Pious, Collected from Various Authors, Philadelphia.  Printed by Prichard and Hall in Mankete Street; and sold by John Dickens in fourth street; near Race Street MDCCXC.

The following are true copies of extracts therefrom....

"Jemima Jenkins was born the 7th of July 1793."
"George William Jenkins was born 8 of January 1814."
"Lewis Jenkins was born the 20 September 1815."
"Jane Jenkins was born December the 25th, 1816."
"William Harris Jenkins was born August 5th 1818."
"Washington Jenkins was born the 14th of March 1820."
"Enoch Jenkins was born the 2 day of April 1823."
"Samuel Jenkins was born the 5 September 1824."
"Nancy Jenkins was born the 19th day of november 1826."
"Thomas Jenkins was born the 7 day of December 1828."
"Charles Tiler Jenkins was born the 20 day of December 1831."
"Catherina Jemima Jenkins was born the 10 day of February 1834."

All of the above entries in the original record are in the original hand writing of my late husband giving the date of my own birth first, and then all of our children as stated above -

I will post more info on Jemima and sworn affidavits of her sons later.....when I have a bit more time.

To all my Triplett cousins who have visited my page......welcome.  I hope you found something you can use.  This Triplett line is being quite actively researched by many very competent people.  I trust when they find definitive proof of who the parent's of Francis and Mary Triplett were......or, according to some.....if Francis and Mary were brother and sister or merely cousins that someone will let me know.  For now, I'm more prone to believe that they were indeed brother and sister.  I would be happy to add lines of descendents to what I have if anyone would like to send me their family lines.  (The more names....the better)!!

Until later everyone................take care and God bless!!
