The Latimer County Historical & Genealogical Society is located in the Latimer County Library Building. The Construction of this new building was begun in 1993, by the Latimer County Foundation for the Future, Inc., and the building was dedicated September 22, 1995. Kensel and Dortha Lee Tucker donated the land for the specific purpose of building a Public Library to include a room for the Society and the Wilburton Alumni. The Latimer County Historical & Genealogical Society is committed to preservations of the History of Latimer County. The meeting time is 2:00 pm on the third Sunday of each month. Dues for membership in the "Society" are $10.00/person and $15.00/family.
