"No heaven can heaven be,
If my horse isn't there to welcome me."

Walt got into miniature horses in 1991 with a gelding he purchased for a pet.  A couple of weeks later a coupe mares, and the story goes on and up to about 35 head.  His Love for the horses was overwhelming!

He took a little horse in the ring once, a weanling stallion that he had spoiled rotten.  The little horse just wanted to stand between his legs and hide his face and Walt, being who he was, could not discipline any horse, so just let him hide his face.  Needless to say there was no ribbon there, but Walt did not care.

His other great passion for them was to feed them. . .oh he did love to feed them.  He was also very caring about other peoples animals as well, getting up at sometimes 2 AM to go help someone who was in trouble delivering a baby foal.

In 1995 Walt had his second triple bypass surgery, he and his wife sold all 35 head of their herd.  This lasted about 3 weeks and he had to have his horses back.  The herd stayed smaller after that and he did enjoy driving his Glenns Apache and Sunnyside Lotus Blossom, but never into the showring.  His enjoyment with the horses was at home and that is where he was found on December 29, 2004, in a stall with his horses.  He will forever be missed by those special little horses and his wife Clara and all his friends that knew him.

Always a smile for everyone and usually a story too!
